I bought my particular cable used for about $95, so happy with that price and there were zero issues other than a damaged box, which Home Essentials Direct noted. Not so sure I would be quite so happy at $165. All of the components seem well-made. Template was spot on. I use some red Loctite to mount the actual mechanism to the bracket just to be on the safe side. No recommendation in the manual, and I don't believe the bolts were pre-coated. Nylocks are used elsewhere, and are included. I would say to be sure to note which model you have before you throw away the box, as the instructions cove -

The only thing better than the helm kit is Wholesale Marine, unlike most others they get things shipped out fast! Doing a restoration on a 65 Sea King and this kit was a no brainer. I've used this same kit on several others throughout the years and have never been let down. It's an easy straightforward installation so there's not much that can really go wrong. A word to the wise on cable length if no existing cable can be measured for reference. Use a garden hose to mock the installation in order to obtain the correct length.
