    Solid reel

    My 1st baitcaster to use for fluke fishing jigging lures. Its a solid build reel all metal but very light and compact size. I can cast very light lures too. Getting it dialed in for me was straightforward but I am still learning it. It would cast further if the the line guide would float L/R when it's freespooling. There is a jigging feature that allows you to press and spool out line and release w/o turning the handle. For the price the build quality is excellent and rated for saltwater use. Anyone interested in back bay fishing will love this easy to use reel.

    I originally discovered quantum reels when i got an accurist s3 spinning reel fas a gift for my father, and was so impressed by it, i got one for myself, but the baitcaster. It's been a very reliable, and smooth reel that casts very accurately. I do prefer a softer grip on the handle, but its fine. I've moved all my rods over to use quantum reels, between accurists and smokes. I mainly use my accurists for jigging and anything i want to drop deep, as the switch for changing how the thumb bar functions is fantastic.
