I began with the symphony as I needed to establish my milk supply according to the lactation specialist. Once my rental was up I had to decide continue to rent or buy one of the medela pumps. Let me tell you best decision to buy the in style pump. This little pump has power and works AMAZING. I am an exclusive pumper and wow just wow. Extremely smooth pump and comfortable. Only negative, I got the backpack originally and within a week the pump motor gave out (I was disappointed that week but thankfully it was just a bad motor). It gave out when medela was not open so the store it was bought at exchanged it so I cannot speak to their customer service. Unfortunately they only had the tote so I went with it as I needed a pump immediately and I am glad it worked out that way. I love the tote as its a little roomier for pumping essentials especially when traveling and honestly I'm not going to pump while walking around but if you are the backpack could be up your alley! The backpack is super cute though!!

I purchased this pump for two reasons: One, I had heard the Medela brand mentioned during La Leche League meetings; two, the pump was competively priced well on Amazon. I wish I had not purchased this pump at all! The suction is HORRIBLE! You have to turn it on high in order to empty your breasts resulting in sore nipples. I have seen a lot of Instagram influencers who have switched the membranes on the pump so I will try that in the future. Also, compared to other pumps in the market, this pump doesn't offer much other than accessories. There is no light (to pump at night), no variation of adjustments that include suction and speed, or a timer. Most of the time when I pump, I use my manual one and especially when traveling. I have heard several people say the same thing! In summary, this pump is a HUGE DISAPPOINTMENT! For anyone reading this review, I would recommend that you look into hospital grade pumps before purchasing a Medela model. There are some on the market that are priced equal to this one!

Being a first time mom who was going to breastfeed, I did a lot of research to find the best breast pumps on the market. Hands down pretty much everything I read was to get Medela! Luckily my insurance paid for the basic pump and I opted to upgrade to the "On the Go" Tote since I will be returning to work. This pump is great. It does a nice job having duel pumps so you can pump twice as fast. The tote isn't crazy huge which will be convenient when I return to work. It comes with a storage cooler which can hold (4) 5 oz bottles for up to 24 hours (when the freezer pack is frozen). Some reviews say the pump is loud but I don't find it to be. I wish it came with the pumping bra (sold separately) which I highly recommend. I didn't think I needed it at first but being able to have my hands free to do other things while I pump is really great. Also, it comes with the standard 24mm shields. I had to purchase the 27mm shields. I think it should come with a sizer and then you can have them send you the correct size for your nipples.

I bought this unit 10 years ago when I had to go back to work at 4 months postpartum. I breast fed & pumped at work for 21 months! Did it again for the second child for 15 months. And now I’m on baby #3 for 6 months now. I’ve had to buy smaller diameter shields to better fit my nipples (21mm) as well as replacement valve membranes. But I am so happy with the value of my initial investment. It saved me so much money not having to buy formula as well as the numerous health benefits for the babies!!
