Medline - Non4420 - Refillable Ice Bags With Clamp Closure

I was sent home with a couple of these after a surgical procedure. These have been completely water tight. When ice melts there has been no sweating or leaking. The long shape is versatile and the ties help hold the bags in place. Since these store completely flat and are refillable, it saves space in the freezer.

Similar to the ice bags used in the hospital after my hip surgery, I wanted bags for home recovery use with this rectangular shape, and I liked the wide opening that allowed me to fill the bag with crushed ice directly from my refrigerator door ice dispenser. They were very inexpensive so I ordered 10 of them. Maybe I shouldn’t have been surprised when I received them that they were labeled as single use. That was the biggest drawback, and I would have gladly paid more for a similar bag in sturdy material that could have served me for a lifetime. The ice melted quickly and needed to be emptied and refilled every couple hours or so. That would have been fine had I had someone caring for me at my beck and call, but I live alone and am responsible for all my care. I ended up abandoning them in favor of a 6”x6” frozen ice pouch that I slipped into a perfectly sized Terry cloth oven mitt which I improvised while waiting for the arrival of the above product. Had surgery on my ankle two months back. The hospital used these great ice packs they did not sweat like most bags do stayed absolutely dry and stayed cold for a long time no need to refill for hours. When I got home still needed ice for my ankle went on online to order more had the product number started looking around at different sites. The cost ranged from $6.29 to $4.59 per bag. No way was I going to pay that much as I wanted to buy ten or more bags. Continued my search finally found Vitality Medicals web site bought 10 bags exact same product number as the ones in the hospital for $1.49 each. Wow what a savings could not be happier. I have gotten rid of my old blue round wet ice pack and will use these for now on when in need. I was looking at other items and their site prices are great. Received in a few days could not have asked for a better experience both product and shipping. Will definitely use Vitality Medical again. Thank you for prompt service.
